Hi there, I'm Annie, the artist behind Kraken Glassworks.
I'm a wildlife artist working in stained glass, inspired by the incredible creatures that inhabit our oceans, coastlines, rivers, and wild places. Through my art, I hope to create more than beautiful objects. My goal is to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
Growing up in Texas and spending time along the Gulf Coast, I've always been drawn to marine life. From the intelligence of octopuses and the grace of sea turtles to the mystery of deep-sea creatures and the resilience of coastal ecosystems, I believe every species has a story worth telling.
Kraken Glassworks was created from the idea that art can be a powerful form of education. Each piece begins with a fascination for a species, its habitat, and its role in the environment. Through stained glass, I transform those stories into light-filled artwork designed to spark wonder and conversation.
Unlike traditional wildlife artists who work with paint or pencil, I use glass as my medium. The way sunlight moves through color and texture brings a unique sense of life to every animal I create. My work combines artistic expression with a love of natural history, conservation, and wildlife education.
As an ocean advocate, I believe that people protect what they understand and cherish. If a stained glass octopus inspires someone to learn about cephalopods, or a sea turtle panel encourages a conversation about conservation, then the artwork has fulfilled a purpose beyond decoration.
